Welcome to the Berlin S-Bahn Museum Website
Welcome to the website of the Berlin S-Bahn Museum
Our next opening day is Saturday, 28 March 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
You will find us with a small exhibition on the North-South S-Bahn in the underground exhibition spaces at Gesundbrunnen station (route description). All opening dates are listed in our calendar.
New acquisitions for the museum

In its "Exhibition Underground" held in the Berlin Underground spaces at Gesundbrunnen station, the Berlin S-Bahn Museum also provides an overview of the turbulent history of Berlin S-Bahn colors. Thanks to an inheritance from animation specialist and university lecturer Peter Blümel, the museum has now acquired an extensive collection of meticulously crafted HO-scale S-Bahn models. The collection spans all experimental trains, the diverse color variants of the Stadtbahn series, the Werkbahn trains from Peenemünde, up to the "Europazug" from the 2000s. All developments of the classic series up to 1939 are represented—over 150 vehicles in total.
We are delighted by this addition. After inspection and organization, we will endeavor to present an exemplary selection first. The photos show only a small glimpse of the collection.
We mourn the loss of Peter Buchner.
On November 4, 2025, Berlin's S-Bahn boss Peter Buchner died far too young after a long and serious illness.
Berlin has lost a dedicated and competent railwayman who successfully led the company out of its most serious crisis around 15 years ago. Despite the daily challenges of operations and politics, he always had an open ear for the many friends of S-Bahn history. We will miss him greatly, both as a railwayman and as a person. Our sympathy goes out to his wife and son.

We have been closed since June 2, 2025.
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to finance our volunteer work at the Ostbahnhof location. This means that we are also unable to implement the many ideas and suggestions that we received from our enthusiastic visitors. We are excited to see what the future holds for us.
